Collector’s take note! ~ The BirchBark Bookshop has listed two exquisite little books on Biblio.com.
These are both hardcover first editions, published in 1899, with elegant illustrations by Miss Margaret Armstrong. These beautiful little books include the full tales by Washington Irving, with text on every right-hand page, framed by illustrations in pale green or light marroon ink, and small pen & ink illustrations in black on almost every left-hand page. There are also 7 photogravures by Frederick Simpson Coburn with quotations printed on the overlay tissue. The covers are cream with Armstrong’s color & gilt illustration on front & spine. Gilt top edge and deckle fore edge. These book are in Very Good condition.
